Most Influential Paper to be awarded at ICSME 2022

Congratulations to researchers Seyed Mehdi Nasehi, Jonathan Sillito, Frank Maurer & Chris Burns, who will be presented with a Most Influential Paper award at ICSME 2022 taking place in October in Cyprus.

Research paper What makes a good code example?: A study of programming Q&A in StackOverflow", authored by Seyed Mehdi Nasehi, Jonathan Sillito, Frank Maurer, and Chris Burns, and published at the International Conference on Software Maintenance (ICSM 2012), has been selected as the Most Influential Paper (after 10 years) of that conference.  ICSM 2012 was held September 23-28 2012 in Riva del Garda, Italy.

The selection was performed by members of the International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution (ICSME 2022) program, steering, and organizing committee, under the guidance of the MIP chairs for ICSME 2022 (and also the program co-chairs of ICSM 2012).

The paper investigates how explanations accompanying examples are as important as examples themselves. Their findings have implications for the way the API documentation and example set should be developed and evolved as well as the design of the tools assisting the development of these materials.

There will be a presentation of the award at the ICSME 2022 conference, which will be held in Limassol, Cyprus, on October 2-7 2022.  Further information about the conference is available on the website https://cyprusconferences.org/icsme2022/

Congratulations!
