Finding Florence: A First Look at the New UCalgary Nursing

Original Air Date: Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020

Did you know 2020 was declared the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife by the World Health Organization to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale?

Join us as we celebrate this legendary nurse as well as the newly renovated Professional Faculties Building, home of UCalgary’s Faculty of Nursing. This virtual tour, led by alumnus MJ Calungcaguin BN’17, will guide you through each of the four floors where you’ll bump into some  “Find Florence” fun.

Here’s a clue: If you correctly tell us where you spot Florence you might just win a prize!

Brought to you by the Faculty of Nursing.

As a collaborative care lead for all the child and adolescent inpatient psychiatry units in Calgary, MJ also enjoys hiking, getting lost on his travels abroad, or accidentally burning another attempted Pinterest recipe!  As a proud UCalgary Nursing alumnus, Calungcaguin enjoys giving back as a dedicated volunteer and most recently is serving as a Bronze Co-lead for the Nursing Alumni Committee.  Over the years, Calungcaguin’s volunteer trajectory has included YONC, UNS and the Faculty of Nursing's Pursuit of Excellence Awards Committee, in which he is currently an alumni representative and co-emcee for the award ceremony.
