SOLD OUT Alumni Field Trip: Rothney Astrophysical Observatory

Alumni All-Access | Oct. 16 | 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Rothney Astrophysical Observatory

This Alumni Field Trip will take you out of this world and into the night sky! Learn about the latest research at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory while sipping hot chocolate and stargazing.

An all-ages event, you’ll get to look through telescopes and learn more about Cygnus the Swan flying overhead and Saturn rising in Aquarius (because we know you’ve always wanted to know what that actually means).

You’ll also get the chance to meet Team Astro, made up of astrophysics and physics students excited to share their astronomy knowledge. Make sure to come equipped dressed for the weather and with your most compelling questions about the universe on-hand.

Please note that this is a “clear or cloudy event” and we will have tours and fun talks prepared in the case of cloudy conditions.

This event is now over. Thank you for attending!

Cost

$10 for ages 8 and up

The Rothney Astrophysical Observatory is located on 210th Avenue W. off Highway 22 S. in Foothills County, approximately 30 km southwest of downtown Calgary (see map).
