Are you a UCalgary alum ready to embark on a thrilling digital adventure? You’re invited to join in our annual Summer Scavenger Hunt!
This year's hunt will take you through a journey of discovery where you'll explore famous UCalgary alumni, iconic campus locations and Alumni Built Businesses. You'll uncover new facts about the university, learn about alumni benefits and programs, and have some summer fun!
We’ve scoured the corners of UCalgary to offer new and exciting missions, so you’ll be challenged — even if you’ve participated in the past.
And the best part (besides the joy of reacquainting yourself with your alma mater, of course)? Prizes. Let the games begin!

Here's how

Once you sign up, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to download and join the hunt on Goosechase. Remember, the more missions you complete, the more points you’ll receive — giving you a higher chance of winning one of the prizes!
The good stuff
For the first three weeks of the hunt, you’ll have the chance to win one of the following prizes (each valued at $100) from businesses owned or operated by UCalgary alumni.
End-of-each-week prizes:
Prizes will be awarded based on the most missions completed by an individual player each week:
- Week 1 prize: from launch of hunt until 11:59 p.m. on July 28
- Week 2 prize: from 12 a.m. on July 29 to 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 4
- Week 3 prize: from 12 a.m. on Aug. 5 to 11:59 p.m. Aug. 11
Please note that all times listed are in Mountain Time.
At the end of the 2024 Scavenger Hunt, there will be three grand prizes presented based on the total points earned by an individual player over the entire hunt:
- 1st place: a Visa gift card, courtesy of our partners at TD Insurance ($400 value)
- 2nd place: a MilkJar candle-making workshop for two, plus a $50 gift card ($300 value)
- 3rd place: a Fresh Prep Meal Kit Service credit ($200 value)
Complete missions to earn points and watch yourself climb up the leaderboard!
At the end of the hunt, we’ll reach out to the top point leaders to choose their prize. In the event of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the alum who submitted the correct answer first, based on in-app time stamps.
