Wellness Workshops

Learn more about self-image, anxiety and healthier thinking, and learn strategies to improve your mental health and wellness.

These workshops are offered to UCalgary Alumni throughout the year at no charge. They are held virtually through Zoom in the evenings and will be led by an experienced counsellor.

Forming and Maintaining Boundaries

Join Katie Pelletier, BCR’09, BA’09, co-founder of INDIGROW Psychology, to learn how to set boundaries and prioritize your well-being. This workshop will help you better understand the relationship between boundaries and mental health and will equip you with practical, hands-on tips and tools to intentionally form and maintain boundaries. The tools taught in this workshop are evidence-based and can be used for boundary formation at home, school, work, and in relationships.

Stress or Burnout?

In this workshop, you'll discover the difference between stress and burnout and form an understanding of the causes of each. Through self-assessment, you'll learn about and identify burnout signs and symptoms to improve self-awareness. Join counsellor Lorelei Lachambre, MC’05, for an interactive session where you can ask questions and engage in meaningful conversation to improve your personal wellbeing.

Understanding and Managing Anxiety 

This workshop, facilitated by counsellor Lorelei Lachambre, MC’05, will help you develop a better understanding of anxiousness versus anxiety disorder. Lorelei will help you increase your own self-awareness of your reactions to stress and what stress is doing to your body, as well as provide strategies to manage anxiety in the moment and reduce the impact of stress over the long term.
