Alum Night with an Olympian: Isabelle Weidemann, BSc'23

Are you a recent UCalgary graduate? Or are you looking for a bit of inspiration to drive you forward?

Join us in welcoming the Class of 2026 to the alumni community and hearing from fellow alum Isabelle Weidemann, BSc’23, a four-time Olympic medallist, two-time Olympic champion in the women’s team pursuit and one of the most accomplished speed skaters in Canadian history. Isabelle has represented Team Canada at three Olympic Games and helped lead Canada to back-to-back Olympic gold medals in team pursuit at both Beijing 2022 and Milano Cortina 2026.

Not long ago, Weidemann was a new graduate herself — full of ambition, energy and endless possibility. Join her for an inspiring conversation as she shares the lessons behind her journey: how she turned challenges into fuel, found mentors who elevated her and built the mindset to thrive when it mattered most.

You'll leave feeling energized and ready to start something, armed with tools and reminders of how to build meaningful relationships, protect your well-being and pursue your goals with confidence.
