Company information: Indigrow Psychology values brain based approaches to healing trauma in order to create meaningful, sustainable, and lasting change. We specialize in trauma-informed counselling, where psychological symptoms are viewed and treated as a natural response to unhealed trauma.
At Indigrow, traumatic experiences are defined as any life event or circumstance that exceeded a person’s ability to cope with what happened. Trauma can be defined as the resulting emotional, physical, or behavioural manifestation of the traumatic experience. These experiences change neural connections in our brain and this impacts our relationship with ourselves, others, and how we create meaning in the world.
We are able to heal past traumatic events and alleviate psychological symptoms, unhealthy relationship dynamics, and dysfunctional behavioural patterns through a variety of attachment and brain based approaches and techniques including EMDR, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Art and Play Therapy.
We offer counselling for individuals, couples, children, youth, and families, and have extensive experience supporting clients of all developmental levels, including those with developmental disabilities. When working with children, youth and families, we utilize a wrap-around approach, collaborating with clients' existing support systems to ensure holistic support. This team-based approach with young clients helps promote truly sustainable change.
Our highly-trained team comes from a variety of backgrounds; we have an appreciation for cultural diversity, and a deep understanding of how culture can impact a person’s identity. We are an LGBTQ2SIA+ practice and welcome clients of all genders and sexualities.
Our practitioners are able to provide services in multiple languages, including English, Cantonese, Spanish, and French
