Ben Chan, BSc (Eng)’03 (he/him)
Ben Chan is a project management leadership coach with more than 15 years of experience in various industries, including fintech, banking, energy, government and software, while leading a variety of project types such as strategy development, software implementation and business-process improvement. Chan graduated from UCalgary with a BSc in computer engineering and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PEng), Agile Scrum Master (ASM) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC).
Dr. Amanda Julian, MSc’15, PhD’21 (she/her)
Dr. Amanda Julien is the co-founder and chief science officer (CSO) of Monark, a company that is turning new and middle managers into super leaders. As CSO, Julien brings research evidence to the company's processes. As an organizational psychologist, Julien’s passion lies in bridging the gap between leadership research and practice. She holds an MSc and a PhD in industrial organizational psychology from UCalgary and has more than eight years of experience consulting for organizations on leadership development and strategy.
Joy Bowen-Eyre, BA’92 (she/her)
Joy Bowen-Eyre Is the chief executive officer of the Alex Community Health Centre. She is also a sessional instructor at UCalgary’s Cumming School of Medicine, teaching health systems leadership. As a recognized leader in Calgary’s social services community, Bowen-Eyre has a passion for community health, social services and education and an intimate knowledge of Calgary’s non-profit sector.
In September 2022, she received The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta), awarded to Albertans in recognition of significant contributions to the province.

Richard Lee-Thai (he/him)
Richard Lee-Thai is a TEDx Speaker, connection consultant and co-author of Become Your Superself: Connect with Yourself to Connect with Others. His TEDx talk, How to Find Excuses to Connect, outlines how people can make meaningful connections easier. Lee-Thai engages audiences with interactive presentations that equip them with the tools to make meaningful connections in their personal and professional lives. He is also a podcaster, Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation and an adjunct instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
