Museum of Making

Tour: Canadian Museum of Making — RESCHEDULED

Due to poor road conditions on the original date in April, we have rescheduled this event to June 9. If you are not already registered for this revised date, please register below.

Bring your family to UCalgary Alumni’s exclusive tour of this 20,000-square-foot underground private museum, founded and owned by avid collector and alumnus Ian MacGregor, BSc (Eng)’71. Two tours will be offered on the new date of June 9, but space is extremely limited!

The Canadian Museum of Making houses an impressive collection of preserved and restored machinery and tools dating from between 1750 and 1920. The current collection includes:

  • a working Linotype machine;
  • African metalwork, such as currency, tools, weapons and ceremonial objects;
  • steam indicators, which were used to setup and maintain steam engines;
  • a 19th-century steam engine; and
  • a growing collection of historic oilfield machinery.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to explore the Canadian Museum of Making, which is accessible only by private tour!

See you on June 9
