Celeste has worked primarily in the private sector in a number of leadership roles, including project-management work. Many of her roles required extensive hiring, with solid employer support to understand the legal requirements, governmental obligations and human resources best practices. In her roles at UWaterloo, she supported students recruiting for job or co-op work terms and then continued to liaise with those students who secured international roles during and after their work terms.

At Alinea, Shantel, BA’11, MPP’12, leads project implementation and regional business development in Latin America, specializing in capacity development, gender-inclusive governance and natural resources governance. She is a two-time UCalgary graduate whose first degree was in international relations. Prior to her current career in international development management consulting, Shantel worked in the post-secondary, government and non-profit sectors.

Karen Ngo, BComm’20, has a personal philosophy: grow one per cent everyday through finding inspiration to share with the world. She loves embracing her passion for empowering early in career and working professionals in their career development with her blog, kkarenism.com. After spending her final semester abroad in Singapore, Karen joined Microsoft Canada and now works to drive optimization across key senior executive communications programs and events.

After completing his degree in international relations, Rahul, BA’16, took his passion for diplomacy and global affairs to King’s College London to complete a master’s in global affairs and strategy. In his current role, he works with a variety of diplomats and leaders from around the world. He also leads a diverse team of employees on a variety of high-profile OECD-related projects and events.

Hana, BA’12, MED’20, is a specialist in international program development. Her bachelor's degree is in international relations while her master's is in adult, community and higher education. Her work and research focus on the implementation of programs (both on- and off-campus) that support the skills gained through intercultural and international education that will help students and alumni thrive personally, academically and professionally.
