UCalgary Alumni Field Trip: Candle-Making Workshop at Milk Jar Candle Co.

Do you remember the joy of taking a school field trip? From hopping on a bus to visit an exciting locale to working with your hands to build something new and exciting, field trips were the highlight of the school year.
The UCalgary Alumni Association is launching a new field trip series meant to inspire some nostalgia and bring such in-person experiences back for alumni to enjoy at any age, starting with a candle-making workshop at the alumni-built Calgary business, Milk Jar Candle Co.
Experience the wonderful world of scent-blending as Milk Jar candle aficionados lead you through a workshop where you will get to create two custom scents that you can add to your own candle and reed diffuser — which you get to take home and enjoy!
Due to limited space, this is an alumni-exclusive event, so reach out to your first-year roommate or grad school lab partner and join us this December for a holiday field trip!

About Milk Jar Candle Co.
Milk Jar Candle Co. was founded by UCalgary Kinesiology alumna Holly Singer, BSc’12, who started making candles in her kitchen in 2014 using material that avoided the toxic paraffin wax bases often found in commercial products.
After a year of candle-making, paired with the feeling that her career path was not meeting her desire to help people, Holly came up with the idea of Milk Jar, a company that blends her love of creativity and passion for lifting up and giving back to the differently abled community by donating to non-profit programs in Alberta and becoming a role model for inclusive employment.
