Bring your family to UCalgary Alumni’s exclusive tour of Deepwater Farms, Calgary’s first commercial aquaponics facility that was co-founded by UCalgary alumnus Kevin Daniels, BSc’15. Space is extremely limited.

A marriage between aquaculture (or fish farming) and hydroponics (the soil-less growing of plants in water), aquaponics produces local food with minimal waste in a controlled environment that eliminates the need for pesticides.

Deepwater Farms grows 500 kilograms of leafy greens — kale, arugula, watercress and more — and produces 250 sea bass each week for popular local restaurants including Model Milk, Ten Foot Henry and the Teatro Group.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to tour this 10,000-square-foot facility to discover how fish and plants work in harmony to nourish one another year-round to provide Calgarians with fresh, locally sourced fish and fresh greens.
