Meet the Speakers

Cheryl Knight, BA’80
Alumna Cheryl Knight is a consultant specializing in labour-market and workforce strategies. She has more than 30 years of experience in organizations of all sizes in the energy, financial, transportation and post-secondary education sectors. She holds a BA (Honours) in psychology, an MEd in counselling and a Strategic Workforce Planning certificate. She is the founding executive director and CEO of the Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada (now Petroleum Labour Market Information), and led the organization to become Canada’s recognized expert in oil and gas workforce issues and labour-market intelligence.

Pat Hufnagel-Smith
Pat Hufnagel-Smith has been helping industry use labour market data and intelligence to inform their workforce strategies for more than 15 years. Pat is passionate about finding ways to effectively transition skilled, qualified and experienced workers between industries and optimize available talent. She has a BA in sociology, a certificate in adult education and facilitation, and a master’s certificate in project management.
