In Memoriam: Aghi Balachandran, JD'11
Aghi Balachandran, December 11, 1985 – November 21, 2018, was a beloved member of the University of Calgary Faculty of Law graduating class of 2011. Following graduation, he started his own firm and practiced criminal law in Toronto. He often served as a principled and zealous advocate for members of the Tamil diaspora in the greater Toronto area. He was involved in legal education and philanthropy from the first days of his practice, teaching courses, guest lecturing, and volunteering for Project Sunshine Young Patrons Circle. Aghi is deeply missed by his family, his classmates, his friends, and countless others in the many communities he touched.
In honour of Aghi Balachandran, the University of Calgary's Faculty of Law, class of 2011 have joined together to create the Aghi Balachandran Memorial Scholarship. Memorial tributes to the Aghi Balachandran Memorial Scholarship.
