Professor publishes book on Marital Rape and Law Reform

Professor Jennifer Koshan has published the book The Right to Say No: Marital Rape and Law Reform in Canada, Ghana, Kenya and Malawi (Hart Publishing, 2017). Jennifer served as co-editor of the book (with Melanie Randall and Patricia Nyaundi), co-authored the Introduction, and contributed two chapters: Chapter 5, The Criminalisation of Marital Rape and Law Reform in Canada: A Modest Feminist Success Story in Combatting Marital Rape Myths (available on SSRN) and Chapter 9, The Judicial Treatment of Marital Rape in Canada: A Post-Criminalisation Case Study (available on SSRN). The book is based in part on research conducted for the Equality Effect, an NGO focused on human rights approaches to combatting violence against women and girls.
